This is a Kinbaku book of it's history and it's application in the real world from back in the day to current times only dedicating its pages and its lettering to the more accomplished Kinbakushi (AKA actual leaders whom are either the originators, masters or talented individuals) whom made Kinbaku what it is today. Anyone looking for an instructional book only will be sorely disappointed. Kinbaku is far too intricate and dangerous to be learned from books or videos without a hands-on Master to guide a student. And with that in mind this book has some awesome pictures and one or two super duper simple tricks than any monkey can do. So if you want the history, plus some amazing pictures by Master K himself as well as a couple instructional tidbits on some things you can do safely at home. Than this book is perfect for you.

Must Read for those interested!

This book is invaluable for anyone interested in Kinbaku/Shibari. Not only does it have the history and development, the "stars" in history and current bakushi, but the photography section is wonderful.
The thing I treasure (after the front section) about this book is the glossary, information about the art of it, and the simple ties that you can learn safely.
The first copy of this book I received was great until I got to the photo section and I was disappointed to see that the photos were "lined" as if it had been printed from a laser printer. When I contacted Amazon they promptly replaced it with an incredibly wonderful copy. I asked about the quality of the book and I found out that there was a "bad batch" that was pulled and somehow a few copes were left. The printing for a trade paperback is incredibly good and the photos are just wonderful.

Really great, profound work on subject of kinbaku.

Book with great content. Revised version even thou has a lot of recent developments from last few years is black and white on regular paper. For a black and white print photos are actually pretty well detailed, but I would definitely would like to see them on thick paper in original color. From a rigger and photographer point of view, this one is definitely worth buying.
