Steven St. Croix is a 20 year veteran of the adult film business. With over 15 awards as a performer, he has performed in over 1400 titles and directed and produced features as well. A member of AVN Hall of Fame and XRCO Hall of Fame, he is one of the last true male stars in the adult film industry.

Very Entertaining Read

Although I had never heard of this porn star (I watched it when John Holmes, Seka, Ron Jeremy, etc were doing the scenes) this book was very entertaining and well written. At no point in time did he ever come across as boasting or display any kind of "I'm better than you because I'm a porn star and slept with 1500 women" type of attitude. In fact it was quite the opposite. The way it was written reminded me of a couple of guys talking about the porn industry while drinking a couple of beers. I hope he writes again in the future. I'd read it.

Treat yourself to this great book!

First, as a basis for understanding, a bit about me: I am not a porn addict or freak. I'm a regular guy who occasionally enjoys watching adult films with his woman. I "stumbled across" this book. Now about the book: it's fabulous. If you've seen even one adult flick, you have questions, and in this book, Steven explains everything with grace, good humor and great wisdom. I was especially pleased that he seems to be a genuinely kind person. No ego, no hype, just very real and very nice. He never says a bad word about anyone, yet is quite honest about being inside the world of XXX films. And he answers every question you've always had and more you never dreamed of. Buy this well-written, captivating book. You'll truly enjoy it.

Fast, fun and to the point!

This is, hopefully, not the last book that Mr. St. Croix will write. One of the male mega-stars of the Adult Film Industry has provided us with a no-holds-barred insider's glimpse into the billion dollar industry that everyone watches but rarely discusses. The book is quite a fast read, to the point, and covers so much information as well as lets us in on who Mr. St. Croix really is -- down to earth and quite real. The book is written in an interview-like style. His longevity in the industry (some twenty years) is also a plus when it comes to getting to know all of the insides of the business (remember, this is primary source material): he discusses his initial contract with Vivid pictures through what it's like to actually work on the set of one of his films and what goes on before and after the scenes. We don't get to see this part of the business and it's eye-opening. Get hold of it -- you won't regret it! He's a smart guy and he enjoys his work and it has paid off for him because, well, how many other men in the industry have lasted as long as he has??? I add also that the book is not seedy in any way but very positive and paints quite a different picture from what you would think working in adult films would be like. A++ all the way. Kudos, Mr. St. Croix and let's hope that you can provide us with something even more generous in future to enjoy!
