Cooperation: The Simulations Continue...

Artificial Morality: Virtuous Robots for Virtual Games (1992) came between Axelrod's "The Evolution of Cooperation "The Evolution of Cooperation (1984)" and later "The Complexity of Cooperation: Agent-Based Models of Competition and Collaboration (1997)" (I haven't read "The Evolution of Cooperation: Revised Edition (2006)" yet).
Danielson delves deeper into details of explorations into the "Prisoner's Dilemma" with many variations on a theme. This book is a wonderful companion to the two books above. Short examples are illustrated in Prolog for the more geek minded, but that is not necessary to enjoy and understand the material presented.

the book is pretty good in developing a series of artificial agents in order to debate the rationality of morality thesis. it is still usable what is more than a complement in a dynamic field from a reader that first got into it 20 years after the publication
