Review
"Susan Hensey, Facility Management Strategies (division of Little & Associates Architects): "There is a strong need for current and comprehensive information about this subject. Mr. Teicholz is very linked to his audience and their needs." Bob Boes, Gensler [largest US architectural firm and the leader in facility management]: "There are few people in the industry with the combination of credibility and visibility that Teicholz has, and the sections written by other industry experts would bolster the book's position as a primary industry source.

Excellent FM handbook for 2001 and beyond
By A Customer
A very comprehensive manual (31 chapters, over 500 pages) for any level of facilty management professional. Each chapter is written by practicing professionals and "expert" consultants. Given that the field of FM covers so many areas, it is useful to have many different perspectives from professionals in the field formed into one big book. Chapters are grouped into phases of FM disciplines, i.e, planning, design, management, technology. There are high level topics such as Strategic Facility Planning, Sustainable Design, Portfolio Management and Business Transformation. Also very detailed, nuts & bolts for topics such as Financial Management for FM's, Energy Management, System Implementation for CMMS (Maintenance systems, Benchmarking, Condition Assessment, and case studies for CAFM technology. Brief chapter summaries are provided to assist reader with content coverage. There are lots of graphics/figures which help readability of this thick book, as well as a CD with websites and templates for RFP's, standards and process related functions.

A bit outdated, but a lot of rich content.
By Tilan Chan
I am a college professor, and one of the course that I teach is Facility Management. This was one of the first books that was required in my course. Its a fairly big book, with a lot of content. I found it to be very informative. There are some sections that need to be updated since this book was published in 2001. My recommendation is that this book should be used as a supplementary text, specially if you're using it to teach.
